Welcome to our family! Family.Advocacy.Consulting.Education.Services focuses on your heart and mine – wanting the best for our family! When your child has a special need, it can be very difficult to know where to begin. That’s how I began my journey as a special needs advocate.
My quest began years ago when my son was assessed at age 2 and I was told he had “autistic tendencies”, when he was assessed by Child Find. CJ was very agile, had advanced gross motor skills, but his language skills were underdeveloped. At age 2 he could only use utterances to tell you what he wanted. Up until this point, CJ’s development was right on schedule. We started working with therapists to help him develop better language skills and for me to learn how to best help him with his behavioral needs as well. There have been many trials, tribulations, and successes through the years. CJ was educated in special needs programs through public school, has graduated high school, and is now 21, participating in an adult day program, and aspires to find a job he loves.
One thing is certain, it took a lot of diligence, persistence, and some tears to get to where we are today. Through it all, I have learned the importance of community, family, and sharing experiences to benefit others. Let me help you discover what you need for your family’s success!
“Peggy is a wealth of information! From talking about resources when we first got the diagnosis to helping me navigate the IEP process, Peggy empowered me to advocate for my daughter in a way that I never thought possible or even knew how to! Since my daughter was physically challenged with no cognitive challenges, I struggled to find organizations that could provide us with the resources we need. Peggy worked with me to learn what my daughter needs, and informed me about the available resources within the community. In addition, she personally introduced me to individuals who can connect me with services that my daughter was eligible for. When it came time for school, Peggy reviewed our IEP draft and helped me prepare for the meeting so I can best advocate for my daughter and get her the help she needs to thrive at the public school system. I am so grateful for Peggy and her dedication to helping moms like me, who are trying their best to navigate and deal with the implications of a chronic condition..”.
The biggie is that something has cleared for her. I don’t know what the right word is, but some fog has lifted so that she’s able to focus better on what’s going on around her.”

“I think it helped to integrate him as a whole human being rather than as a scattered collection of organs that weren’t working together very well.”
